Jacob Daniel “J. D.” Capps-age 90 of Washburn passed away Thursday evening, July 13, 2017 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church and served as the caretaker of Liberty Hill Cemetery for many years. Preceded in death by wife, Ethel Asberry Capps. Survivors, daughter and her husband, Charlene and Earl “Shorty” Wood of Washburn; two grandchildren, Laken and Easton Bailey along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Joe Graves, Rev. Travis Profitt, Rev. Roy Graves officiating with music by The Hurst Family. Interment 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017, Liberty Hill Cemetery, Washburn. Family and friends will meet 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home to go in the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Terry Bell, Rick Bailey, Jim Standifer, Tim McGinnis, Randy Harrell, John Beeler; Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Nicley, Gerald McGinnis, Berry Beeler, David “Humpy” Wade, Easton Bailey.
