Glenn Paul Buckner-age 83 of Maynardville passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at home. He was a retired employee of Dempster Brothers, Knoxville. As long as his health permitted, he loved hunting and fishing, baseball and football along with U.T. sports. Preceded in death by his parents, Troy E. and Ruby (Cox) Buckner; sister, Susie Cooke; brother, Allen Buckner.

He is survived by his son, Greg Buckner and wife, Denise of Ten Mile; daughter, Beverly Hickey and husband, Doug of Glen Carbon, Illinois; grandchildren, Matthew Buckner, Logan Hickey and wife, Lauren, Travis Hickey; sister, Carolyn Norris and husband, Alvin of Maynardville and several nieces, nephews and other family members along with a host of friends. A special thank you to Rodney Norris and family, Mike Cox and wife, Cathy, and daughter-in-law, Denise Buckner who had him at her home for the past 4 months.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Friday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Josh Jones officiating, with music by Danny Cooke. Interment 11:00 am Saturday, September 30, 2023, in Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers: Travis Hickey, Logan Hickey, Matthew Buckner, Rick Buckner, Rodney Norris, Caleb Norris. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 am Saturday at the funeral home to go in procession.
