Elmer Leon Crawford-age 78 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord, September 1, 2021. He was born June 20, 1943 the son of the late Sam and Annie (Clay) Crawford. Elmer was a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by wife, Gladys Williams Crawford; son, Michael Crawford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Foister Keck; Christine Taylor, Martha and Roy Monroe, Mary Lou Allen, Ruby and Pete Clay; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Juanita Crawford, Darrell Crawford, Virgil Crawford, Frank and Bea Crawford, Lee Roy Crawford and infant Earl Crawford; sister-in-law, Betty Crawford.
Survivors: children, Jim and Nena Crawford, Doyle and Penny Crawford, Teresa Thacker and T. J. Harrell, Janice and Bryan Shumate, Little Elmer Crawford. 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Brother, Ivan Crawford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Rev. Richard Nicley; Bob Taylor; Richard Allen, Deanna Crawford, Robin Tankersley. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The body may be viewed 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary. Graveside service and interment 1 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Yadon Cemetery, Maynardville, Rev. Richard Nicley officiating with music by Linda Nicley and Michelle Blankenship. Pallbearers: Grandsons. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 12 noon Saturday to go with the funeral procession. In leu of flowers, donations to assist with funeral expenses will be accepted at the funeral home. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
