Earl Samuel Savage

Earl Samuel Savage Sr., age 77 of Maynardville passed away on Monday, July 5th, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Washburn. He was saved during a revival in March of 1959 at Warwick’s Chapel Baptist Church held by Loy Shelton and Jess Qualls. Preceded in death by loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn Whitson Savage; parents: George Harvey & Dollie Savage. Brothers: George Allen Savage & Johnny C. Savage. Sisters: Gladys (Sis) Scott, Helen Jones, and Ellen Savage. Father and mother in law: Judge Ernest and Elsie Whitson. Son in law: Charles Oliver. Brother in law: Kenneth Williams.

Survived by: Son - Sammy Savage (fiancée) Melissa Chambers), Daughter - Earlene (John) Leonard. Grandchildren: Kayla (Marcus) Atkins, Kaine (Samantha) Savage, Kendra (Taylor) Nicely, Katelyn (Glenn) Asher, Kaleb (Caity) Savage, & Andy (Kailyn Griffey) Oliver. Great-grandchildren: Ella Kate & Ava Atkins, Laine & Lillie Savage, Trace Nicely, Nathan & Samantha Asher. Brothers & Sisters: Faye Williams, Paul (Imogene) Savage, Jerry (Diane) Savage, Harold Savage, Richard Savage, Bobby (Karen) Savage, Brenda (Sidney) Jessee, Linda (Ted) Leonard, sister in law Norma Savage, and brother in law Jim Jones.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8th from 5pm - 7pm, with the funeral service immediately following, Rev. Matthew Leonard, Rev. Marcus Atkins. Graveside service to be held at 11am on Friday, July 9th at Pleasant View Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Kaine Savage, Kaleb Savage, Marcus Atkins, Andy Oliver, Taylor Nicely, Glenn Asher. Honorary pallbearers: Sidney Jessee, Ted Leonard, nephews, Charlie Sharp, Isaac Collins. Special thanks to Emily Harless & Reliant Family Health, and Fort Sanders Hospice.
