Dollie Kay Cooper-age 45 of Knoxville was taken from us Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Dollie Kay was born February 18, 1976 to Sherlene Childress Cooper and Gary Cooper. She was one of 10 children. Preceded in death by father, Gary Leroy Cooper; paternal grandparents, Guy and Dollie Cooper; maternal grandparents, James and Martha Childress; sister, Judy Ann Cooper-Mebine, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by mother, Sherlene Childress and Sherlene’s husband (Dollie’s step-father, Pops) Eddie Welch; step-mother, Gail Varner (Mom #2); sons, Matt Bice and daughter-in-law, Hayle Bice; Joseph Macklin and daughter-in-law, Alexis Macklin; Cody Bice. Sisters, Tammy Cooper, Sondra Cooper Bowling and Wendy Brewer; brothers, Gary (Booger Bear), Joseph, Josh and Derrick Cooper and Gary Allen Brewer as well as several nieces and nephews. Her entire family and a few life long friends will miss her beyond measure.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Donnie Scarbro officiating with music by Kathy Brown. Interment 2 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021, New Gray Cemetery, 2724 Western Avenue, Knoxville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 12:45 p.m. Monday to go in the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Joe Cooper, Gary Childress, Derrick Cooper, Matt Bice, Joseph Macklin, Cody Bice.
