David Ray Shelton – age 78 of Washburn, went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2022. He was a member of Mount Eager Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by wife, Linda E. Shelton; infant son, David Ray Shelton, Jr; parents, Floyd and Edna Shelton; sister, Maude Harrell; and brother, James Shelton. David is survived by sisters, Virginia Holt, Mary (Jeff) Arrington, Sharon (Ronnie) Lay, Mae (David) Maness, Dotty Shelton, Doris (Robert) Dukes and Connie (Mark) Brogden; brothers, Paul (Faye) Shelton, Leroy (Linda) Shelton, Ralph (Linda) Shelton and Benny (Donna) Shelton; and several nieces and nephews that were like grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2022 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Gary Donahue and Reverend Chuck Huskey officiating. Family and friends will meet 8:45 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Trinity Funeral Home and proceed to Needham Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service.
