Coba Faye (Cox) Dyke

Coba Faye (Cox) Dyke (age 89), journeyed to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was born to Joe and Bertha Cox on September 30, 1933 in Sharps Chapel, TN. She was a woman of great faith and belonged to the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Coba was raised in her hometown where she later married her lifelong love, Dwane, on August 3, 1949. She soon started a family, and a career at Palm Beach where she worked diligently for 27 years before retiring to a relaxing life of quilting and crochet, traveling with her family, completing word searches, reading her Bible, and of course, hunting wildflowers. She passed peacefully at her home in Knoxville, TN surrounded by close family and her favorite nurses. The family extends special thanks to UT Hospice, especially Heather and Linda, who provided dedicated care and warm-hearted attention even in her final days. Coba is preceded in death and now reunited with her parents (Joe and Bertha), loving sister (Marilyn Jean), and infant daughter (Deborah Lynn).

She is survived by her husband, Dwane; sons Gordon (Linda) and Dwight (Missy); grandchildren, Shontae (Mike) Trump, Shane, and Clint; great granddaughters, Aubrey (Thomas) Skelton and Kelly Lovorn (Andrew Crenshaw); great great granddaughter, Catherine Skelton; sister, Hilda Wade Cox; and sister-in-law, Myrel Dyke.

The funeral service, officiated by Gordon Dykes, will be held on Sunday, January 29 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville, TN with pallbearers Mike Dykes, Verdus Dyke, Leonard Dyke, Randy Dykes, Warren Dykes, and Curtis Dykes. The family will receive friends from 5pm until the service commences at 7pm. The following morning, loved ones will gather at Cox Cemetery in Sharps Chapel, TN for an 11:00 am burial.
