Clayrissa Marilyn Hill

Clayrissa Marilyn Evans Hill-age 83 of Maynardville passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, surrounded by her children.
Clayrissa was born August 3,1940 in Detroit Michigan and moved to Tennessee at the age of 7.
Preceded in death by her father, Henry Clay Evans, mother, Margaret Kelly Carey, brothers, David Evans and Lyle “Laddie” Carey and grandson, Daniel Joseph Kitts.

Survived by her son, Roy “Tony” Smith (Lisa), daughters, Mitzi Hill Talley (Travis) and Lisa Hill, brothers, James Evans (Barbara) and Ron Carey (Nina), sister, Terri Rene Evans Bailey, grandchildren, Nathan Kitts and Anna Claire Talley, great-grandchildren, Elle Kitts, Emma Kitts, Dexter Couillard and Scarlett Couillard.
Music, history and genealogy were her passions. She served many years as a board member for the Union County Historical Society. She devoted countless hours helping others research their family histories. She was a self-taught pianist and served as church piano player for most of her adult life. She loved playing the upright bass and played in multiple bluegrass bands. She loved dance and was a clogging instructor. She formed clogging teams that regularly performed for the University of Tennessee football team pre-game celebrations. She devoted more than 40 years as business office manager for Brown Appliance Parts Co. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, friend and community volunteer and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to her Green Acres Subdivision friends and neighbors for all the prayers and support during her illness. We would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care provided.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Saturday at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Andy Lynn officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Skaggs Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday to go with the funeral procession.
