Clarence Grubbs
Clarence E. Grubbs – age 83 of Maynardville. God has taken another amazing man to Heaven today, April 6, 2024. He fought a brave battle with Pancreatic Cancer for 9 long months. Clarence was called a Gentle Giant and was loved by many. He was a man who lived life to the fullest. Clarence was a Glazier for 40 years, an amazing carpenter, mechanic, and avid fisherman. He grew hydroponics, the best tomatoes and vegetables. Clarence was an eagle lover, a magical storyteller and awesome cook, to name just a few. He would tell the children and grandchildren stories of his childhood, school days, the many work trips all across the country and his many adventures helping others in need. He was made up entirely of everything good, he was kind, gentle, patient, caring, hardworking, funny and full of love. He was Clarence to his wife, Pops to his son, Dad to his daughters and Papa to his 19 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Ora Grubbs; brothers, Oscar and Joseph; and sister Charlotte. Clarence is survived by wife of 63 years, Mary Huskey Grubbs of Maynardville; daughter, Deborah Anne (David Collins) of Maynardville; son, Clarence Edward, Jr. (Connie Summerloin) of Stuart, FL; daughter, Lora Lea (Ben Pierce) of Yulee, FL; and Sandra Jean of VA; and brother, Bernard (Carol) of Knoxville, TN
