Carolyn Sue Brantley

Carolyn Sue Brantley – age 73 of Sharps Chapel, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Claiborne Medical Center. She was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church having been saved at an early age. She owned and operated Brantley Grocery in Sharps Chapel for many years and although she was a mother to 3 children, she mothered many other children at the “White House”. If you knew her, you knew what it was like to be loved.
Preceded in death by her husband, David Brantley; parents, Curtis Vance and Pansey (Bussell) Chumley; son, Roy Curtis Brantley; siblings, James Luther Chumley, Eunice “Susie” Chumley Brantley, Bernice June Chumley Keck, Linda Jackie Chumley Caldwell, Rosemary Sheckles, Nancy Jean Ervin, Jerry Lee Chumley; special friend, Smitty Caldwell.
Survived by her son, Richard “Rick” Brantley and wife Stochia; daughter, Amy Brantley; six grandchildren, Kayla Wenger and husband Jacob, Hayley Brantley, Madison Brantley, Joshua Brantley, Jasmine Yount and Husband Grayson, Katelyn Brantley; one great-granddaughter, Melody Yount; special fur baby, Odie; brother, Jackie Neal Chumley; sister, Shirley Diane Gibson; several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
Family will receive friends on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Tim Sharp, music by Diane Lay. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. to go in procession to Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery for a 11:00 a.m. interment.
