Carl Burnette-age 85 of Luttrell passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Willow Ridge Center. Carl was a member of Hubbs Grove Baptist Church, Maynardville. He was a loving husband, father and papaw. He was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger. He loved his family, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Papaw was his favorite role in life. He loved his community and was always willing to help his neighbors. He enjoyed friends dropping by and sitting out under the shade tree visiting. Carl also enjoyed being on the farm caring for his horses, other animals, tractors and farm equipment. He will be missed by ALL. Preceded in death by infant son, Gregory Allen Burnette; parents, Willis and Sylvia (Wolfenbarger) Burnette; siblings, Cecil (George) Bucker, Roy (Geneva) Burnette, Fred (Bonnie) Burnette, Hubert (Wanda) Burnette, Ruby (Glen) Wolfenbarger, Virlin (Frankie) Burnette, Polly (Doyle) Johnson, Louise (Jack) Oaks; special friend, Ronnie Bailey.

Survivors: wife of 59 years, Helen (McHone) Burnette; son, Rick (Barbara) Burnette; daughters, Karla (Gary) P’Simer, Sharon (Frank) Brillhart; beloved grandchildren, Adam (Vivian) Burnette, Ashley (Jamie)Roach, Sam (Becca) P’Simer, Maddie, Drew, Jack and Ellie Brillhart; great grandchildren, Sarah, Sophie, Analeigh, Liam, Lucy; brother, Dennis (Betty) Burnette; special friend, Glenn Coppock along with a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Special thanks to Summit Medical, Halls Family Practice especially Dr. Shane Kelly and staff, Tennova HealthCare North, TriStar Centennial Medical and Willow Ridge in Maynardville. Special appreciation to niece Kathy Horvath for her care of Carl.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2023, with funeral service to follow at 7 PM Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Ray Headrick officiating and music by The McHone Family. Interment 11 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 AM Wednesday to go with the funeral procession.
