Billy Ray Shoffner-age 81 of Sharps Chapel, born June 25, 1940 passed away Tuesday morning, July 13, 2021 at his home. He was a member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church. He was the son of the late John D. and Gracie (Shelby) Shoffner. Also preceded in death by wife of 59 years, Glenetta Odell Shoffner; brothers, Doyle Shoffner, Jackie Lee Shoffner; sisters, Pearlie Mona Shoffner and Bonnie Mabe Massengill.

Survivors: son, Jackie Ray Shoffner and Amy Denise Brantley; daughter, Crystal Hurst and Justin Lane; brother, Bob and Kay Shoffner; sister, Ada and Lawrence Mabe; four grandchildren, Jackie Lynn Shoffner, Nikki Michelle Shoffner, Mikeal Anthony Dyer and Katelyn McKinley; two great-grandchildren, Jackie Earl Shoffner and Gabrielle Nicole Greene. Several other relatives and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharp, Rev. Willard Wilder officiating with music by Diane Lay. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Friday at Shoffner Cemetery, Sharps Chapel for a 10 a.m. graveside service. Pallbearers: Paul Whitley, Jackie Lynn Shoffner, Jackie Earl Shoffner, Justin Lane, Joey Shoffner, Paul Collins. Honorary Pallbearers: Jim Edmondson, Henry Owens, Greg Kerney.
