Billy D. Hopson – age 87 of Corryton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his home. He was a member and deacon of Spiritual Baptist Church, Corryton. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his wife, Cora Sweet Hopson; parents, Albert and Cora (Asbury) Hopson; brother, Tom Hopson; sisters, Inez Chesney, Margaret Davis, Ruby Martin.

Survived by sons, Gary Hopson and wife, Joyce of Knoxville, Joe Hopson and wife, Pam of Knoxville, Rev. Nick Hopson and wife, Tressa of Knoxville; grandchildren, Mandie and Payton Cooper; Deana and Chucky Newman; Destany, Jeremy, Trevor, Hayley, Charity, Johnathan; ten great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Brown of Corryton; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends; very special friends, Chris and Dena Hatcher.

Family will receive friends 5-7 pm Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Maynardville with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm Monday, officiated by Rev. Ryan Hatcher and Eulogy by Rev. Nick Hopson, music by Rev. Richard and Linda Nicley and Destany Hopson. Interment 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Big Barren Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to go in the procession. Pallbearers will be Trevor Hopson, Chris Hatcher, Ryan Hatcher, Hayden Hatcher, Darrell Brown, Peyton Cooper, Honorary Pallbearer, Carl Davis. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville.
