Betty Lou Nicley
Betty Lou “Speedy” Nicley – age 89 of Washburn, passed away October 8, 2024 peacefully at home. She was a member of Central View American Christian Church. She was cherished by so many and will be remembered for her love and kindness. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, camping, gardening, coloring and any sport involving her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband, Herbert “Fuzz” Nicley, Jr.; father, Herbert Bailey; mother, Geline (Marion) Bailey; siblings, Edith Vineyard, Rosella Nicley, Gladys Frye, Dorothy Nicley, Earl Bailey and son-in-law, Dale Barbee. Betty is survived by daughters, Sharon (Wayne) Lynch, Carol Barbee, Pat (Jerry) Lynch and Wanda (Charlie) Frye; grandchildren, Eddie (Crystal) Scearce, Becky (Wes) Troutt, Valerie (Joe) Nicely, Kelly (Glenn) Lay, Rodney Lynch, Joseph (Brandi) Frye, Chasity (Justin) Epperson and Emily (Will) Corter; great grandchildren, Alex (Gabby) Scearce, Lauren (Jordan) McGillivray, Noah and Callie Nicley, Hannah (Jack) Irwin, Jeremiah, Johnathan (Brittany) and Leah Troutt, Kaylyn (Travis) Lunsford, Kaitlin and Ayden Nicely, Jerica (Tyler) Bailey, Alec (Chloe) and Austin Lay, Corbin and Sophie Frye, Abigail, Jackson and Hudson Epperson; great great grandchildren, Kayden, Layla and Aubrie Scearce, Winter and Ronan Irwin, Blaine Munsey, Wyatt and Barett Bailey; sister, Ruth Coffman; special friend, Bonnell Wolfenbarger; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Jerry Epperson and Reverend Jerry Lynch. Music provided by Chasity Epperson, Jackson, Epperson, Corbin Frye, Jerry Lynch and Nurse Liza Barnard. Family and friends will meet 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2024 at Trinity to proceed to Liberty Hill Cemetery in Washburn for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service.
