Bennie Capps

Bennie C. Capps – age 88 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord, August 3, 2024, with his loving family around him. He was a member of Black Fox Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, clerk, and treasurer for most of his life. Bennie proudly served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at the Pentagon. He retired from TDOT after many years of loyal service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Flossie Capps; brothers, Cecil and Dale Capps; sister, Maxine “Mack” Capps; and his beloved firstborn, Denise Capps Cooke. Bennie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Catherine Capps; sons, Greg (Emily) Capps, Brad (Deanna) Capps; and daughter Valerie (Eddie) Parton; grandchildren, Weston (Kelsey) Capps, Brittany Waggoner, Mary Alison (Seth) Sides, Molly Capps, Emma (Kai Xin) Capps and Nathan Capps; and great grandchildren, Nolan Capps, Dalton Capps and Carter Sides. He leaves behind many other loved family members and friends. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Elder Jerry Hembree officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Trinity to proceed to Monroe Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
