Dewey McCall Raley
Dewey McCall Raley-age 91 of Corryton passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, when his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called him home with his loving family by his side. He was born September 27, 1932, in Central Peninsula, Union County Tn. He was a devoted member and deacon of Hubbs Grove Baptist Church. He was a devoted and loving husband to Bobby Helen (Wyrick) Raley for 50 yrs until her passing in 2003. He was a devoted and loving father to his four children Darrell, Debbie, Daniel, and Don. He had the work ethic of no other and earned everything by the sweat on his brow. After a 40-year career with Lay’s Packing Company, he retired. He was an avid hunter and fishermen and loved to garden in which he done for the rest of his time with rabbit hunting being his specialty. He could train a beagle and grow a garden like no other. To know him was to love him. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Raley; parents Harley Sr. and Christine Raley; brother Raymond Lewis Raley; sisters Evelyn, Dorothy, Geneva, Polly, and Maxie.
He is survived by his children, Darrell Raley, Debbie (Randall) Medley, Daniel (Nancy) Raley, Don (Jan) Raley; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother Harley Raley, Jr; sisters Betty and Chris and several nieces and nephews and his devoted hunting beagle Amy. Special thanks to lifetime neighbor and best friend, Jerry Dalton, special care giver, Robin Carden and U.T. hospice care.
The family will receive friends 1-3 pm Sunday, March 10, 2024, with funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Scott Thompson officiating, music by Hubbs Grove Singers. Interment to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville, Rev. Jacob Keys officiating. Pallbearers: Sons and Grandsons. In lieu of flowers make donations to Hubbs Grove Baptist Church building fund. Arrangements by Cooke Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
