Peggy Sue (Bailey) Dennison-age 60 of Maynardville passed away Friday morning, February 8, 2019 at her home following a long illness. She was a member of The Church of God at Maynardville.

Survivors: husband, Bobby Ray Dennison; daughters, Mitzi Petty and husband, Chesney;
Trish Houston and Dora Davis; step-children, Jacob Shultz, Jessica Shultz, Jonathon Dennison and Beth De Leon Several grandchildren along with one great-grandchild. Sisters, Vickie Coram and Debbie Bailey. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Sarah Hodge Williams "Mamaw Whistle" age 86, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 after a very brief illness. She worked for Allergy & Asthma Sinus Center (North Office) for almost 70 years. Preceded in death by husband Jack C. Williams, parents Bernie and Carrie Hodge, and brother Robert Hodge. Survived by daughter Carol Shultz (Gary), grandchildren Cassidy, Tommy, and Jeffy, great-grandchildren Jaycee, Lynsey, Emily, J.D., special niece Donna Gibson, and her little dog Jack Zipper.

D.C. Thomas, age 86, passed away February 4, 2019. He has faithfully served as a deacon of Clear Springs Baptist Church. He also served as past Sunday School Director and rang the church bell at our Thompson School Road Campus for many years. D.C. will forever be known for his enthusiastic closing motion of our church business meeting, “Brother Moderator, I make a motion we adjourn this present session!”. He never met a stranger and never hesitated to share the love of Jesus with others. D.C. retired from Robertshaw Controls with 43 years of service and was a 50-year Mason.

Charles W. Jordon-age 64 of Maynardville was born September 4, 1954 and passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Preceded in death by son, Jimmy Jordon, parents, Charles and Juanita Jordon, brother, Stanley Jordon, sister, Janice Dwyer.

Charles is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

L. Arnold Young, age 88, of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019. He retired from A & P Grocery and was a decorated Korean war veteran proudly serving in the Navy. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jane Young. Survived by his children Doug Young (Jane Treece), Richard Young (Debbie), Denise Piper (Joe); granddaughter Jennifer Brooks (Steven); great grandchildren Adelaide, Sullivan and Vivienne Brooks; brothers David, Russell, Franklin, Stanley and Don Young; sisters Elizabeth Whiteside and Shirley Pressley.

DANNY RAYMOND REYNOLDS, November 29, 1954 - January 28, 2019.

Reverend L.B. Herrell passed away on February 1, 2019 at 10:30am. Though always quick with a story or a laugh, and passionate about raccoon hunting, he realized that these were, in the end, mere vanities. His family and church thank God almighty that there is no sadness in the departure of L.B., for he was saved as a young child by the grace of Jesus Christ. Called to preach, and to pastor several churches, L.B. tried to decrease that he may, through the preached word given to him by the Holy Ghost, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Gladys Maples Corum, age 91, of Corryton, Tennessee passed away Friday, February 1, 2019. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital and was of Christian Faith.

Preceded in death by husband Ray Corum; parents Charlie and Sally Maples; brothers and sisters Dan, Carl, Paul, David, Essie Tapp and Madge Kirby.

Survived by sons Steve Corum, and wife Denise, and Charles Corum; grandchildren James and Lacey Corum, Cody and Leigh Corum; great grandchildren Marissa, Vincent, Peyton and Parker Corum; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mabel Gail Buckner-age 70 of Maynardville, born June 20, 1948 and left this earth on January 31, 2019. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Boyd C. Buckner; infant son, Michael Lloyd Buckner; parents, Vaughn (Bud) and Gladys Norris; sisters, Dorothy Tharpe, Mildred Cooper and Ruby Norris; sister-in-law, Doris Norris.

Kathleen “Kathy” Irene (Kasmer) Taylor, age 55, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019. She was of Christian Faith. Preceded in death by son William Mark Webb. Survived by sons Steven Webb and Kenneth Webb; grandchildren Allysan, Serenity, Kadence, Gabriel, Elijah, and Xavier. Vaughn Everett Atkins-age 77 of Maynardville, born May 29, 1941 passed away Wednesday evening, January 30, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center. Preceded in death by wife, Helen Bates Atkins; son, Jeffrey Atkins; parents, Andy and Emily Inklebarger Atkins; brother, G. M. Atkins.
Survived by sons, Chris and Greg Atkins, both of Maynardville; daughters, Kitty Hensley and Greta Atkins, both of Corryton; Sister, Andra Atkins of Luttrell; grandsons, Joe and Isaac Atkins, Derrick Hensley.

Mary Lee Montooth-age 74 of Luttrell also known to all as DeeDee passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at her home. She was preceded in death by husband, Bryan K. Montooth; mother, Tressie E. Chittum; father, Harvey Chittum, Sr.; sister, Mary Jane Strevel; brothers, Reese and Harvey Chittum, Jr.; niece, Teresa Hope Chittum.

Nathan “Nate” Dallen Buckner – was born into this world March 1, 1989 at 3:41 a.m. He was saved April 5, 1998 on the bank at Nance Ferry and baptized by his dad. With the hope he received that day, he used it on January 25, 2019 when he took his last breath at 4:00 p.m. at U T Medical Center after he was so selfishly stripped from this life. He had a heart of gold and was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. If he loved you he’d go above and beyond to help you in anyway. From the day he was born he was ready to take on the world.

Shannon Rene Eichelberger, age 50, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019. She was a member of NA (Narcotics Anonymous) for 25 years. She was a loving woman with a big heart. She is preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Chuck Peterson. She is survived by her son Matt Moyers; parents Bill & Eva Eichelberger; sisters Connie Weiss (Ed) and Cathy Roach; brothers John Eichelberger and Bill Eichelberger; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Brian Russell Cody, age 32, passed away Sunday January 27, 2019. He was a fun-spirited, loving and kind man who never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his mother Pam, whom he loved dearly. He was survived by his only daughter Lainee Jane Cody, who was the love of his life and entire world; his father Dewey “Bubba” Cody Jr. (Tracey- “Mom”), brothers Dustin (India) and Corey; sister Faith, stepsisters McKinna and Megan Williams, and devoted family loved ones Josh and Valerie Rader.

Rylan Sharee Ragan – infant daughter of Payton and Austin Ragan, was called home to be in the arms of the Lord on January 24, 2019.

She is preceded in death by great grandparents, Linda Bailey, Buddy Brown and V. G. Shoffner. Rylan is survived by her parents, Payton and Austin Ragan; grandparents, Elaina Ragan, Chris and Jenna Ragan, Trevor Tolliver, Samantha Tolliver; great grandparents, Carolyn Shoffner, Sheila Brown, Rodney Brantley and Earl Ailor, III; great-great grandparents, Harold and Louise Brantley, Betty and Bill Tolliver and Ruth Cooper; and several aunts and uncles.

Carolyn Stefanski – age 84 of Maynardville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Carolyn loved her and she was loved by her grandchildren who always came first. Grandpa and Granma spent a good fifteen years on the road in their motor home.

Terry L. Brown, age 73, passed away on January 23, 2019. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and animals of all kinds. Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nora Brown. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years Geraldine Brown; daughters, Pamela Hicks (Willie) and Lorie Wade (Pete); son, Terry Lee Brown, Jr. (Lori); grandchildren, Justin Hefner, Felicia Mikels (Steve), Nora Brown, J.H.

Dale R. Wesche – age 39 of Heiskell, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 as a result of an automobile accident. He was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and 4-wheeling with his friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Wilma Wesche. Dale is survived by his canine companion, Gretchen; and a community of friends.
