Upcoming Book Signings - Bonnie Heiskell Peters

Bonnie Heiskell Peters will be signing books at the Thunder Road Authors’ Rally on September 8, 2018 from 9 am until 1 pm. She will be at Family Heritage Day on November 10, 2018, Hogskin History Day on September 29, 2018 and the Union County Heritage Festival on October 6, 2018. Look for her at these events. Bonnie’s new book is More Tales from the Hills and Hollows of East Tennessee. This is a 261 page soft cover edition. This book is a compilation of historical short stories about local people. News Sentinel columnist Sam Venable provided the introduction. The cover illustration is by Bonnie’s daughter, Sheri Kimberlyn Peters.
Bonnie’s other books are:
- Our Union County Families, co-authored with the late Winnie Palmer McDonald. This is a compilation of genealogical summaries of about 100 Union County families and has 750 pictures.
- Union County Faces of War, co-authored with the late Winnie Palmer McDonald. This covers the military history of Union County people from Revolutionary times to Desert Storm and has 950 pictures.
- Union County Schoolday Memories has history of early Union County Elementary Schools from the establishment of the county to the mid 1960s when the county consolidated elementary schools into four larger schools.
- Early Heiskells and Hyskells in America 2nd edition [The third edition is currently out of print.]
- Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. This is an early history of the church and a listing of persons buried there.
- Hansard Chapel Methodist Church. This is a history of the church and a listing of persons buried there up to 2009.
- East Tennessee Pioneer Mark Monroe and his Corn Crib, co-authored with Bonnie’s husband, Sam Peters, who is a descendant of Mark Monroe.
- Tales from the Hills and Hollows of East Tennessee, a 274 page soft cover edition of historical short stories about local people and things. Mr. John Rice Irwin, founder of the Museum of Appalachia provided the introduction.
