Annually, the Union County Soil Conservation District sponsors a poster contest at Paulette Elementary School. This title, “Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home”, was the theme for the 2018 contest. The poster contest winners are from the fifth grade class and are as follows: Valentina Grace Moshe, first prize winner receiving a check for $30.00 and her poster will be entered in the state contest, sponsored by Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts (TACD); Benjamin Wayne Brock, second prize winner receiving a check for $25.00; and Hadley Ann Berry, Honorable Mention winner receiving a check for $10.00. This contest provides students an opportunity to share their ideas and thoughts about soil, water and related natural resource issues. A special thank you to all the participants that completed a poster for this year’s poster contest.
