UNION COUNTY, Tenn. (March 26, 2025) – Walk 4 Water Union County is partnering with the Union County Farmers Market at Heritage Park for their third annual fundraiser this June.
Walk 4 Water organizers were planning the 2025 walk and were considering changing the event day to a Saturday, with previous walks being on Sundays after church. Walk organizer Father Neil Pezzulo suggested having a joint event with the Farmers Market to avoid competing events. The Walk 4 Water organizers unanimously approved the idea. Walk chair Desiree Hensley approached Donna Riddle of the Farmers Market board with the proposal. Riddle then presented the proposal to the market board, which unanimously voted to approve the joint event.
Riddle elaborated, “The Union County Farmers Market board thinks this collaboration will be a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together for a great cause.”
Hensley agreed with, “This will be an incredible opportunity to bring more Union County citizens out to support both the market and those suffering extreme clean, safe water poverty across the globe in Uganda.”
On June 7, the Walk check in time will be 9 a.m., program beginning at 10 a.m., Walk at 11, followed by live music with food and dessert vendors until 1 p.m.
