Velvety chocolate pie
Some cooks today buy a couple packages of chocolate pudding and maybe make their own pastry. However, that doesn't compare with this velvety chocolate pie
2 cups milk
2 squares baking chocolate, chopped
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons plain flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
4 teaspoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cool Whip
Baked 9 inch pastry shell
Heat milk in saucepan. Add baking chocolate, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted. Blend together sugar, flour and salt. Add slowly to combined milk and chocolate mixture. Stir to blend well. Lightly beat eggs.in a small bowl. Stir in 1/2 cup of the hot mixture. Add egg mixture to rest of milk.mixture. Cook and stir over low heat for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Cool mixture slightly and pour into bakes pastry shell. Chill and cover with Cool Whip before serving. Grate some sweet chocolate over the Cool Whip if you like.
