Union County Master Beef Program Offered

UT Extension Union County will host the Tennesssee Master Beef Producer Program on October 13 & 14, 2022. The Master Beef Producer Program is an extensive educational program developed to provide information to assist Tennessee cattle producers in improving the profitability of cow-calf operations. The classes provide opportunities to gain knowledge with in current beef cattle management practices that are important to the profitability and sustainability of the industry. Beef cattle are one of the largest agriculture products in the State of Tennessee and is the largest agriculture product produced in Union County.

In the fall of 2022, Union County hosted the Master Beef Producer Classes. Classes will be held in partnership with UT Ag Research Centers with two on farm field days. North East Tennessee Beef Expo will be held in Greeneville on October 13th 8 am – 4 pm. The next day, October 14th, UT Extension will meet here in Union County to complete the class 8:30-am- 4pm. A wide variety of topics will be covered from farm design, nutrition, herd health, pasture management. Dr. Samantha Collins of Sharps Chapel will speak for the 2nd year consecutively with a Herd Health presentation. The cost to take the class is $100.
