Union County FCE Kicks Off the Year with January Meeting

Union County FCE began 2025 with an engaging January meeting that highlighted the importance of emergency preparedness. Chase Filip from the American Red Cross served as the guest speaker, delivering an informative presentation on how to be ready for unexpected emergencies. Members learned essential tips, such as the need for at least three days’ worth of food, water, and medicine per person in an emergency kit.

During the meeting, members received their 2025 FCE yearbooks and planners to help organize the year’s activities. Several important contest and field trip dates were also set, paving the way for an exciting year of learning and fellowship. If you missed the January meeting and still need a yearbook and planner, please reach out to Abby.

Looking ahead, the February FCE meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 20th, at 10 a.m. at the Union County Extension Office, located at 2721 Maynardville Hwy, Maynardville, TN 37807 (in the same building as Guided by Grace and Union Nutrition). The theme for February is "Heart Healthy", and the meeting will feature a guest speaker’s presentation, followed by a fun activity.

Lunch will include a baked potato bar, with baked potatoes provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a topping or two to share.
