Union County Extension Office Hosts Successful Open House Event

Union County, TN – On March 27th, the Union County Extension Office welcomed community members to its Open House event, showcasing the many programs and resources available to local residents. The event provided an opportunity for guests to learn more about Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and other valuable extension services.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees had the opportunity to meet with Extension agents, learn about various programs, and explore displays highlighting the impact of Extension services in Union County. The event highlighted ongoing programs such as 4-H youth opportunities, health and wellness initiatives, and agricultural support services designed to benefit local farmers and gardeners.

“We were thrilled with the turnout and enthusiasm from the community,” said Shannon DeWitt, Union County Extension Director and ANR Agent. “This event allowed us to connect with community members and share how Extension can support and enhance their lives.”

One of the highlights of the day was the display of 4-H County Baking and Photography entries. Guests were invited to vote for the People's Choice award photo and sample the baked goods, which showcased the talent and creativity of local 4-H members.
