Union County Clerk’s Office services explained
The Union County Clerk’s Office is excited to say that we now issue REAL ID Driver License, duplicate and address change on Commercial Driver License and renewals on Handgun Carry Permits.
The County Clerk’s office has numerous other duties including collecting Race Track Insurance Licensing Fee, issuance of Marriage Licenses, Pawnbroker Licenses and New Business Licenses.
In addition, we also issue motor vehicle titles and registrations, duplicate titles (same day) and we collect sales tax. We collect wholesale beer taxes and hotel/motel taxes. We also accept beer permit applications and collect the annual privilege tax (beer permit renewals).
We provided installation permits of manufactured homes to licensed installers.
Furthermore, we accept notary public applications–new applications and renewals, and we maintain records of notary public oaths and bonds.
In addition to notary public records, we also maintain and store marriage records dating back to 1863, maintain and store county government committee and board minutes and maintain, file and store county commission minutes.
For boat registrations, we collect sales tax and issue of temporary registrations.
For the convenience of the citizens of Union County, we offer these additional services such as: hunting/fishing license, boat renewals and quota hunt applications.
The driver license department is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers renewals and duplicates for valid Tennessee licenses and IDs, duplicate and address changes on Commercial Driver License, handgun carry permit (renewals only) and REAL IDs (with proper paperwork).
Our passport acceptance facility, with two Certified Acceptance Agents, is also open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and accepts new applications, renewal forms and change of name forms with other miscellaneous forms available for pickup, and offers passport photos.
We offer several services on our website unioncountyclerktn.com including: renewal of motor vehicle registrations, copies of marriage certificates and new business license applications. You can also start your marriage license application through our online services. In addition, county commission meeting minutes from 2008 to current are available to be viewed.
Our drive-thru is available for motor vehicle renewals only.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, unless on a holiday weekend. The driver license department is open and passport applications are accepted until 3 p.m. on weekdays.
