The Union County Children’s Charity (Under The Tree) has been working since August for the 2018 Toy Drive Campaign. Applications went out and ornaments have been made with the children’s wishes. Trees went up at local businesses: Janet’s Hair and Tan, Food City, Tolliver's Market, Commercial Bank, Pete’s Place, Rhonda’s in Sharps Chapel, First Century Bank, New South Credit Union, Union County Trustees Office, Union County High School Beta and Okies Pharmacy. Also, American Business & Equipment along with CSI are collecting new unwrapped toys.

Union County Children’s Charity is a 501C 3 non profit that organizes and distributes toys to 500 Union County children ages birth to 12 years. It is run by volunteers and no one receives a salary or pay.

If you’d like to help, take an ornament off a tree, follow the instructions on the ornament for the child’s wishes, mark off the barcodes with a black Sharpie ® marker, place in a black trash bag, and take back to the businesses. Monetary donations are accepted and used to fill ornaments that are not removed from trees. Union County Children’s Charity P.O. Box 1033 Maynardville, TN 37807. For more information call Union County Trustees Office at 865-992-5943. Distribution Day is Saturday, December 8th, 9:00 am until 12:00 pm at Union County High School Commons.
