Union County 4-H Hosts 2025 County Baking Contest

The Union County 4-H held its annual County Baking Contest, showcasing the incredible culinary talents of local youth. The competition, held on March 27th at the Union County Extension Open House, featured a variety of delicious -baked goods, with each grade level assigned a specific category. Participants demonstrated creativity, skill, and passion for baking, making it a delightful and delicious event for all involved.

The 4th-grade contestants were tasked with making muffins, with Tyler McNew earning first place, followed by Kenzlee Nicely in second and Sullivan Queener in third. Fifth-grade participants showcased their cookie-making skills, with Angelina Burch taking first place, Luke Goforth placing second, and Arabella Muncey securing third. The 6th-grade competitors prepared bar cookies, where Malaiah Lane-Ward took home the first-place prize.

In the 7th grade, participants baked quick loaf bread, with Levi Raper earning first place and Makinzee Eubanks finishing second. The high school division, consisting of 9th through 12th graders, took on the challenge of baking yeast bread. Raven Walker claimed first place, Anabelle Groce placed second, and Madeleine Groce finished third.

Congratulations to all the participants and winners! The 4-H County Baking Contest continues to be an excellent platform for youth to develop their skills, gain confidence, and showcase their talents. We look forward to seeing what these talented young bakers will create in the future.
