Under the Tree
Union County Children's Charity annual "Under the Tree" toy program is underway. The event is for low income Union County children ages 0-12 years. Applications were distributed through the Union County Public Schools and the deadline has passed. Now the ornaments are printed and put on trees in various businesses throughout the county. You can find an ornament at: Tolliver's Market, Food City, Janet's Hair and Tan, Okies Pharmacy, New South Credit Union, Commercial Bank, Pete's, First Century Bank, Atlantic Coastal Bank, Union County High School Beta Club or Rhonda's in Sharps Chapel. Just pick an ornament, shop, mark the barcodes off, place the ornament and unwrapped gifts in the bag, return to the business you got the ornament from. Also, you can drop off at American Business Equipment or Union County Trustee Gina Buckner's Office.
This is an annual community event in which businesses, churches and our great community of volunteers help provide Christmas to a needy child. The schools are a big help and Attorney David Myers for providing a building.
If you'd like to make a monetary donation or volunteer call Carol at 441-4274 or Gina at 992-5943.
