Tulip Festival at Oakes Farm

Oakes Farm is in full swing with their first annual Tulip Festival, that started March 22 and runs through April 6 or longer according to how long the blooms last. While they are well known for their pumpkin patch, corn maze and lily festival, to celebrate their 25th year of family fun, they decided to try something different. When talking to the gentlemen who designed their corn maze and also had experience in designing tulips fields, they decided to give it a try.

According to owner Ken Oakes, they have planted 400,000 tulip bulbs, with 32 varieties that cover three acres in full bloom.

The festival is open six days a week from Tuesday- Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 7 p.m. It is located at the same location as the pumpkin patch and corn maze at 8240 Corryton Road, Corryton TN 37721. You can get more information from their website (oakesfarm.com) about tickets. They are selling time tickets online or at the gate unless they are sold out. Selling time tickets allows them to limit the crowd, prepare for the needed staff and speed up the entry process. This also guarantees you will be able to get in when you arrive.

They have activities for children, such as slides, the jump pad, pedal karts for riding around the grounds, and a petting zoo.

Shop the general store where you can purchase Oakes Farms Festival shirts in long and short sleeves, stuffed animals or a vase to fill with tulips that you can cut from a special provided field.

Oakes Family Grill will have classic like burgers and chicken tenders and plenty of sweet treats. Picnic tables are available.

The fields are beautiful and full of a variety of colors. Bring your camera because there are plenty of photo opportunities for the whole family. Hope to see you at the festival.
