Thank you, Union County !

The American Legion Post 212 would like to thank all the many people who stopped long enough at the intersection of Hickory Star Road and Maynardville Hwy on October 5 to plop some money into the buckets held by our Veterans. Many drivers were in a hurry to get to the Heritage Festival in Wilson Park, but still slowed down long enough to make a donation. (Luckily, no Veterans were hit while playing in traffic).

Commander Darrell White (Air Force), Arnold Stephens (Marines), Steve Reynolds (Army), Charlie Collins (Army), Norman Gillen (Navy) and Union County Veteran Service Officer Kevin Manley (Army) were the Veterans you gave your money to as you drove by. The $1800 you donated will be used to provide Christmas for those who will have little at that most giving time of the year, including food boxes for Veterans that will include enough food for several days.

Additionally, one of the members of the American Legion donated $1000 for drinking water for the people of Newport TN who are in desperate need for the basic minimums of life. Commander White, on behalf of all the members of the American Legion Post 212, appreciate your support for the volunteer work that they do. If you were unable to make it to the Roadblock and would like to donate, checks may be mailed to the American Legion Post 212 140 Veterans St Maynardville 37807

Thank you, Union County!
