Snowflakes are Magical
The miracles found in snow stems back to when I was a little girl, about 6 or 7. The Christmas forecast was for sunny and warm temperatures, in the 60s, but I prayed for a white Christmas. I had the childlike faith that it would snow. My grandfather, Roscoe, was teasing me by saying, "It's not going to snow. It's going to be too warm." I replied, "Don't you believe in the Bible? We're going to have a white Christmas." For those who didn't know my grandfather, he was a well-read Christian man, so my question was not one of disrespect, but was the excitement of a new believer, with childlike faith. That Christmas morning, we woke up to a white Christmas. This prayer seems so simple, but its impression has lasted a lifetime. God hears our prayers and He answers prayers. My life has been blessed with many answered prayers big and small; not to my will, but to His.
God's glory amazes me. He has provided in ways that's beyond comprehension as to why. So, the snow was a little prayer, but let me share with you a large answered prayer. My brother went into kidney failure at the age of 36. He had all kinds of complications and almost died several times. It seemed that if there was a rare side effect to a treatment, he had it, no matter how rare. He went on the transplant list and shortly afterwards God provided in a way none of us saw coming. A living donor, a man that had only met my brother a few times said, "God told me to give Aaron a kidney." This man's love for the Lord had him obediently giving a kidney. Wow! The details of the story and how it all unfolded is unbelievable, "but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).
Every time I see snow I'm giddy like a child. It's a blessing from my Heavenly Father that He hears our prayers. So, snowflakes are magical to me. I'll bundle up and smile knowing God hears our prayers no matter how big or small. I believe in miracles and challenge you that if you do not know this Savior of mine, please get to know Him. Christmas is just around the corner so there will be many opportunities to hear about Jesus Christ our Savior.
