Sharps Chapel Music Festival
By Miranda Sharp
The Sharps Chapel Fall Music Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 30th from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Sharps Chapel Community Park. Sharps Chapel has historically held an Annual Octoberfest which hasn’t happened in many years. It feels wonderful to revive a Chapel tradition!
Bring your chairs and blankets and claim a spot in front of the gazebo stage for the show! A very exciting line up of music and entertainment has been created beginning at 12:00 pm with performances by Tennessee 90, Str8Up, Brooke Logan and Cayden Brown. There will also be performances by the Sharps Chapel Elementary School Hornet Cheerleaders and the Union County Line Dancers. At 4:30 pm, the Union County High School JROTC Honor Guard will kick off the evening program with the presentation of the flag, followed by a military tribute as we stand in solidarity for our National Anthem. The Thunder Rose Band and The Chillbillies will provide incredible evening entertainment that will surely have you on your feet dancing. The evening will conclude with a fireworks show just before 9:00 pm.
The Festival kicks off with a “Cowboys and Tiaras” children’s pageant (ages 0-12yrs) at 10:00am at Sharps Chapel Elementary School with the winners announced during the evening program on stage. To enter the pageant, contact Candice Tolliver at Candice’s Hair Salon (865) 659-8858 or stop in for an application.
Tasha Beason is hosting a Pie Baking Contest! So, pull out your rolling pins and family recipes for a chance to win over the judges with your pie. Pie entries need to be dropped off Saturday at the Sharps Chapel Community Center between 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm with judging at 4:00 pm.

If you have a collectable, don’t just appreciate that beauty in your garage or barn, bring ‘er out and let ‘er shine! Winners will be announced on stage.
Be sure to bring a big appetite. There will be several food trucks at the park providing a wide variety of food choices. Be sure to visit the concessions stand in support of Taylors Grove Baptist Church who will be serving up their famous food to raise funds for a new church roof.
Get your Christmas shopping started early by visiting over 50 vendors, who are mostly local businesses. The items being sold and shared are truly unique and interesting including everything from boutique clothing, custom shirts and hats, home décor and artist creations to fishing boats, jet skis, side by sides and ATVs. Shopping small businesses is vital for their success and our vendors would love your support!
A Kids Super Fun Zone has been created with many games, activities and crafts your kids will not want to miss! A lot of planning has been placed on making this a memorable day for families and all the events for kids are completely free with many chances to win prizes.
In memory of Mr. George Sharp, a dedication has been planned in his honor at 2:00 pm. George’s loved ones invite all who knew him to join them at the park entrance near the concession stand to be part of the dedication.
We are so grateful for our sponsors and the Sharps Chapel Volunteer Fire Department for supporting this event. Without them, a free festival like this would not have been possible.
