Red Devils Baseball Win Opener
Maddix Wyrick’s walk-off was a picture perfect ending in Horace Maynard’s victory over Claiborne Bulldogs. Horace Maynard took Tuesday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 3-2 walk-off with Claiborne Bulldogs. The game was tied at two with Horace Maynard battling the bottom of the sixth with an error and a fielders choice led to the winning run for Horace Maynard. The pitching was strong on both sides, Horace Maynard pitcher struck out ten, while Josh Cinnamon sat down five. In the top of the fourth inning, Claiborne Bulldogs had tied things up at two when Cinnamon was struck by a pitch driving in a run. Gavin Janeway got the start for Horace Maynard. He lasted 3 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out five. Parker Hodge came on in relief in the top of the 4th to secure the victory and get the win. Ty Edds led Horace Maynard with two hits and three at bats. Horace Maynard stole six bases during the game as two players had stole more than one. Edds led the way with three. Horace Maynard was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Edds had the most chances in the field with 11. Rodriquez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Claiborne Bulldogs in hits.
