The Red Devil baseball bounced back from a loss earlier in the week by pounding out 18 runs on 8 hits to defeat the Cougars. Ty Edds got things started in the first inning by beating out a bunt and 2 stolen bases. Then scored on an infield hit by Aiden Bowman to start the rout. Multiple walks and a couple of timely hits saw the Red Devils por it on in the 4th with Maddix Wyrick , Braden Hall and Edds getting timely hits. Edds(6-2) started on the mound got the win after a slow start., with solid defense shutting down Campbell Co.

Powell Middle School Calms the Red Devil Bats, Powell rolled into Maynardville and put the bats of Horace maynard in the freezer, as the Panthers defeated the Red Devils 10-0. The Red Devils were over matched on this day by the Powell pitching, as 6th grader Aiden Bowman managed the only hit for the Red Devils. Ty Edds got the start on the hill again but hits, walks and errors shortened this outing as the Panthers chased Edds after 2 innings and led 5-0.. Jake Ryder and Brandon Reed combined to slow the Panthers down, but the task was hard..The Red Devils (13-4) travel to Philadelphia 4/29/21 for the final regular season game before the tournament begins 5/3/21. The Red devils received the number 1 seed in the tournament as they finished 1st in the Appalachian Valley conference.

Horace Maynard traveled to Philadelphia and found themselves in another battle with a very good Warrior baseball team. Despite out hitting the Warriors they came up short of a 7-1 defeat. Maddix Wyrick got the start and found trouble in the 1st inning and Garret Grave stopped the bleeding in that inning but found trouble himself in the 2nd with walks. Lincon barton and ake ryder held the Warriors in tact the rest of the to give Horace Maynard a chance for a unavailed comeback.
the Red Devil's lone run came in the 3rd when Daniel Bailey drew a walk and Aiden bowman moved him to second on a SAC bunt then Ty Edd doubled over the left fielder to score the lone run. "We've not been playing our best baseball at this crucial time of the season, although the competition is really good" stated Coach Edds. Good teams will put pressure on you when you allow free bases, and that's the story line of both of the last 2 tough losses heading into the tournament, added Coach Edds. Horace maynard will be hosting the Conference tournament May 3,and 4 at Union county High School baseball complex with games 5:30 and 7:30 Monday and 6 pm Tuesday Come out and support the Red Devil Baseball
