Quick and easy strawberry jam
There are a zillion strawberry jam recipes. This one is different, really different. There is no pectin in it. Since we see fresh strawberries in the produce section of Food City all year long, it can be made anytime. check out the other tasty combinations at the end of the recipe.
QUICK AND EASY STRAWBERRY JAM
2 or 3 cups mashed fresh strawberries
3 cups sugar
3 ounce package strawberry Jello
The amount of strawberries depend on how thick you want your jam, Mix strawberries well with sugar and let stand four hours or overnight. In Dutch oven bring to a hard boil over medium heat. Boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add strawberry Jello, mixing well until dissolved. Bring to a boil again. Remove from heat and let set for a few minutes. Stir again. Put in jars and keep in refrigerator or freezer. Other combinations you could use are:
1. Strawberry and pineapple Jello
2. Raspberries with raspberry Jello
3. Grapes with grape Jello
4. Peaches with peach, lemon or pineapple Jello
5. 5 cups chopped rhubarb with raspberry or strawberry Jello
