Paint Party on Main Street
Platinum Athletics kicks off the Paint Party for Union County Youth
On June 29, Main Street exploded with color. Union County Platinum Athletics hosted a Paint Party to youths and families of the community. The children, as well as the children at heart, excessively enjoyed a paint slip-n-slide, shaving cream twister, canvas painting with squirt bottles, water balloon fight, and an over the top paint war. The paint war is exactly that, a war, everyone throws powder paint at everyone who came for a fun mess of a time, creating a beautiful, colorful rainbow mess.
With more than fifty people attending, owners Brittany Canter, Alicia Muncey, and Mandy Jenes, were thrilled with the turnout. The ladies hosted the event with the goal of a day of fun for the community, promoting their business, and raising funds.
The trio started the business to give children and parents additional and different opportunities than what was already offered in the community. The events they host are driven from the fun and enjoyment present when the community joins together. With sustainable growth over the year the business has been open, there are more community involved events planned for the future.
UCPA is committed to student growth within their personal tumbling and dance goals. The ladies love their students and families and want to increase their skills but also serve as role models and support them in all aspects of their lives. Brittany says, “There are some classes that we laugh more than we work, and it is just needed sometimes. Seeing the students accomplish their new skills is rewarding, but the best part is the hugs and the genuine love we feel from them.”
Platinum Athletics is located at 1388 Main Street in Maynardville. They offer tumbling and dance classes for ages six months to eighteen years. Also, fitness classes are offered to a broader age range including Dance2Fit with Mandy and Pound with Jessica. Fitness classes are dedicated to help everyone get healthier in a fun and motivational atmosphere. These types of fitness classes offer parents activities for their children as well as themselves to be active. It offers the students a sense of dedication and responsibility to achieve their goals.
Brittany, Alicia, and Mandy would like to extend a thank you to all who attended the event and made it such a success. An extra special thanks to Melissa “Moo” Schwarzrock for photographing the event.
With the same goals in mind, there is a Water Party scheduled for July 27, for more details watch the Union County Platinum Athletics Facebook and Instagram pages. With comments like “they had so much fun”, “it was a blast”, and “can we come back tomorrow?”, it is hopeful that this isn’t the last Paint Party Main Street will be acquainted with.
