Meet me at the Lemonade and Sunshine Festival
Little Valley Mercantile founders Tim and Kayla Cook.
The beautiful East Tennessee sunshine is ready to be soaked up. The weather is on point and sets the mood for some outdoor entertainment with the family and friends. Luckily, Meet Me at the Market is bringing the Lemonade and Sunshine Festival to Maynardville, kicking off the season right.
Stop in and enjoy local vendors, crafters, food trucks, music and more at the Union County High School parking area between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 14.
Meet Me at the Market is a trendy and quickly growing traveling farmers and crafters venue of sorts. You may see pop-ups all around the Maynardville, Knoxville and Halls areas.
Locals to Maynardville, Kayla Cook and her husband Tim founded the market, chasing their hearts’ desires of creating crafts and woodworks. Their passion evolved into their small business, Little Valley Mercantile, right here in Union County, in 2014. They craft custom order woodwork, grow cut flowers and more.
Kayla began her startup as a vendor and small business making her way to many markets and events. She felt there was more to be offered for small businesses like hers and knew with a clear vision where she wanted to take her enterprise, as well as help others in the same situation to better market themselves and grow their businesses along the way.
So, in 2021, she kicked off Meet Me at the Market events, strategically designed to be a central space for local artists, crafters, bakers and vendors to sell their items.
“This is important to me because I am passionate about supporting local small businesses to help them be able to support their families. I love seeing customer interaction and everyone walking away happy,” Kayla shares.
Kayla and Tim look forward to a prosperous future in supporting local businesses to have an outlet to grow right here in East Tennessee. They have dreams of a storefront and permanent location for vendor events, but for now, we can support the locals by attending the planned events.
Next up is the Lemonade and Sunshine Festival and you will not want to miss it; with music, crafts, barbeque, and lemonade, how could you pass up this fun opportunity right here in our remarkable town.
