LUC graduates class of 2022

Leadership Union County Class of 2022 Graduates: Donna Riddle, Rebecca Lock and Sheila Varner.

Leadership Union County celebrated with dinner at Pete’s Bar and Grill to host its graduation ceremony on September 20. Graduating were Donna Riddle, Rebecca Lock and Sheila Varner.
President Wayne Toppins presided over the ceremony for the Leadership Union County Class of 2022. Board member and past president Colleen Beeler awarded the plaques while secretary Pearl Coffey extended her congratulations. The class attended sessions on government, health, industry, agriculture & tourism and education & technology in addition to their orientation.
Class members noted that all of the classes were stimulating and enriching and an opportunity to learn more about Union County. Members particularly named the trip into the mine at Carmeuse in Luttrell on Industry Day, the tour of the schools on Education & Technology Day, and all of Government Day as highlights of the class curriculum.
All agreed that the introduction to leadership presented by Marvin Jeffreys at orientation was particularly candid and inspiring. Lock stated that she had already passed his characteristics of leadership to several colleagues.
Graduates have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills by participating in East Tennessee Regional Leadership which covers 16 counties. They can also serve as board members for Leadership Union County.
The Class of 2023 will begin in the spring. Contact Colleen Beeler at beelerc@bellsouth.net for more information.
