Knoxville TN: Local author Jim Hartsell will hold a book sale and signing at the Ijams Holiday Market Sunday December 9 for his Boone series of novels, Pushing Back, Matching Scars and Keeping Secrets. The books will be rereleased with new covers through a new distributor December 1. The genre is coming of age Appalachian Fiction.

Hartsell is a native of East Tennessee who says he spends most of his days writing, playing music, volunteering and spending time with his wife of thirty-eight years and his ever-expanding family. Hartsell drew insight for his Boone series during his professional career working with teenagers on the fringes of society. He says the work gave him a glimpse into the complexities of the inner and outer struggles that many of us cope with on a regular basis. He says the rhythm and cadences of the Southeast are evident in both his written and spoken voice.
