Honey glazed ham
I like a fully baked ham. It is so easy to work with. There are a zillions glazes for ham. Here is another good one.
HONEY GLAZED HAM
5 to 7 lb fully cooked boneless ham
2 tablespoons whole cloves
1/2 ounce can ginger ale
1 cup honey
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1/2 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced
Orange marmalade for serving
Preheat oven to 325 F. Score surface of ham in diamond pattern about 18 inch deep. Stud top of ham with the cloves. Then put ham on rack set on rimmed baking sheet. Tent with foil and bake 1 hour. Meanwhile bring the ginger ale, honey and vinegar to a boil in small saucepan. Cook until thickened, about 30 minutes. Remove foil from ham and brush with glaze. Return to oven to bake 30 minutes longer, glazing again after 15 minutes. Remove oven and let cool slightly, then slice. Serve with Swiss cheese slices and golden mustard.
