Ty Edds hits 1 of 2 HomeRuns in conference win over rival Clinton
Red Devils Blast Clinton
The Red Devils hosted Clinton and blasted four home runs against them. Ty Edds found his swing and led the way with two home runs. Tucker Flannigan and Brandon Reed also joined the festivities, both going deep. Flannigan, Harlen Hunley, Edds and Reed all had multiple hits. Reed and Flannigan led the Devils with 3 hits out of 3 at bats each. Ty Edds started on the rubber for the Red Devils throwing four innings and gave up zero hits and zero earned runs. The Red Devils' win over Clinton secured 1st place in the conference with a record of 8-0 in the conference and 9-2 overall. The Red Devils play Rutledge Friday, 16th at 5:00 for their 8th grade night. Come out and support Red Devil Baseball.
Red Devils Trounce Cougars
Horace Maynard traveled to Northview Academy on Thursday April 8th, to take on conference rival Northview Academy. The Red Devils, in a hard fought comeback win previously against Northview, with a score of 4-3. This time was a much different game as they brought their game and tamed the Cougars. The Red Devils came on top with a score of 10-5 making this their second time beating Northview. Jake Ryder started on the hill for Horace Maynard. Ryder started off hot, but in the second inning he struggled to pull it together. Brandon Reed came in relief to shut down the Cougars. The Red Devils bats were hot with Edds starting off the game with a hard hit single then Tucker Flannigan drove Edds in for the first run. Edds led the team with 3 hits out of 4 at bats with 2 RBI’s. Flannigan, Edds and wyrick all had 2 RBI’s each. The Red Devils had 10 hits and 10 runs to beat the Cougars.
Red Devils Romp Cumberland Gap
Red Devils route Cumberland gap, Horace Maynard came off spring break hotter than a pistol by routing the visiting Panthers 18-3. The Red Devils hit 3 bombs in the game by 6th grader Tucker Flanagin, 8th grader Jake Ryder, and 7th grader Brandon Reed each hit homeruns propelling the devils over Cumberland gap. A host of pitchers told the rubber for the red devils to secure the win. Ty edds pitched the first, Tucker Flannigan threw the second relieved by garret graves, Maddox Wyrick threw the third and Jake Ryder finished the game. Aden Bowman and Maddox Wyrick also contributed hits. The Red Devils are currently 6-0 in the conference 7-2 over all Horace Maynard plays at Northview Academy 4-8. The next home games 4-12 vs Clinton and Rutledge 4-16. Come out and support the Red Devils!
Lady Devils Shut Down Anderson County
The Lady Devils came out on top over Anderson County Mavericks on their 8th grade night with a score of 8-4. Aleyia Satterfield (8th grade) started off on the rubber and pitched the whole game. The Lady Devils hit two bombs both hit by Emery Bales (8th grade). Teagan Monroe (8th grade) stole home scoring the first run of the game. Aleyia Satterfield hit a shot to the outfield resulting in a double. After this 8-4 win your Horace Maynard Lady Devils softball team has a record of 11-1. Come out and support your Lady Devils at Claiborne County High School (6:30) as they verse Claiborne County.
