HMMS Softball Off to a Great Start!

The HMMS Softball team has made incredible progress and shown consistent growth to kick-off the season. Coach Lindsay Wagganer shared, “We have played some tough teams so far, including Rutledge, Cumberland Gap, and Clinton, and our hard work has paid off with a 4-1 record. Each practice is an opportunity to improve, and the dedication from our players is evident in their performance on the field.” The softball team is currently in first place in the district.

One of the highlights of this team has been the leadership from our eighth graders. Coach Waggner explained, “They have truly stepped up, not just in their performance but in how they motivate and support their teammates. Madalynn Wolski and Kingston Brown have been exceptional on the mound, showing great composure and skill. Summer Corum and Addy Hamic have proven to be clutch hitters, stepping up when we needed them most. Matlyn Graves is another standout, always keeping the mood positive and communicating effectively with her teammates to ensure everyone stays focused and ready for the game.”
Coach Wagganer also wanted to give special recognition to one of the team’s sixth graders, Addy Meredith. Coach Wagganer stated, “Though she’s younger than most of the players, Addy has already made a big impact on our team, particularly at first base. She’s shown that age is no barrier when it comes to contributing to a team’s success.”

The future looks bright, and there is no doubt that this team will continue to achieve great things as they push through the rest of the season. Check out the HMMS Facebook page for the upcoming games. All home games are played at Big Ridge Elementary School.
