Heritage Theater hosts Youth Talent Show

Levi Fritts performs his own arrangement of movie melodies.

A new addition to the 20th Union County Heritage Festival was the Youth Talent Show performed at Woods Heritage Music Theater and hosted by Jim Woods. Four talented musicians entertained and displayed their knowledge of several instruments. Thirteen-year-old Levi Fritts played his own arrangement of John Williams music from a variety of movies. Williams wrote the score for Jaws, Star wars, and Jurassic Park. Levi played a medley of six scores on the keyboard.
Luke Goforth, age 10, strummed his electric guitar and sang Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez. Luke competed at the Beta Club Convention in Nashville and performed at his church prior to the Heritage Festival. Another ten-year-old, Memphis Hensley,
played A Soldier's March on the snare drum. Memphis has cultivated his knowledge of the Civil war while improving his musical talent. Sonny Alvis wowed the audience with her rendition of How Great Thou Art on a 12 string guitar.
All participants received a gift basket with music related items, a gift card, a t-shirt and a keepsake Bible.
Pass the word! Jim Woods is looking to triple the participation next year as he seeks to inspire the musical talent of our youth. Mark October 4, 2025, to perform at next year's Heritage Festival.
