Heritage Fiddle Contest

Leah Teno wins 2018 Heritage Fiddle Contest.

The 15th Annual Union County Heritage Festival will offer several opportunities to showcase your creativity in various shows and contests.

The second Union County Heritage Festival Amateur Fiddle Contest will be on Festival Day, Saturday, October 5, 2019. Winners receive cash prizes of 1st -$300, 2nd - $200, and 3rd -$100 from an Arts Grant through the East Tennessee Foundation. There is no entry fee. Registration is on site from 10:00am to 12:45pm at the State Farm Tent. Contestants begin performing at 1:00pm on the Front Porch Stage.

Also on Festival Day are the Heritage Olympics. Children can compete in Nail Driving and the Pumpkin Seed Spitting Contest. Adults can also do Nail Driving. Males can do the Feed Bag Toss while females can compete in the Skillet Throw. Lodge Cast Iron sponsors the prizes for all events.

UT Extension Union County will sponsor the Hay Bale Decorating Contest to provide a warm welcome for all of our visitors to the Heritage Festival. The contest is open to all Union County Businesses, Clubs, Organizations, Committees, Schools, and Groups.

Betty Bullen and Gloria Holcomb will host Fine Art, Student Art, and Photography at the Historic Snodderly House. Both two and three dimensional art from amateur area artists are part of the exhibit. Prizes are sponsored by Jerry's Artarama and Union County Arts.

If you like to bake, Union County 4H will sponsor a Pie Contest with cash prizes prior to the festival.

The Union County Museum will sponsor the Quilt Show with ribbons for the winners in several categories.

Wayne Roach will organize the Antique Tractor Display near Veteran's Place and the Model A's will line up along the back road.
