Gail Corum shared tax tips at UCBPA Meeting
Gail Corum of Corum Bookkeeping & Tax Services
“File early and seek professional advice to file your 2023 IRS taxes” is a tip from Gail Corum, owner of Corum Bookkeeping & Tax Services.
Gail shared these and other important ideas with Union County Business & Professional Association Members at the meeting in January during lunch at Li’l Jo’s. She encouraged everyone to seek the advice of a professional, especially for completing tax forms for a business.
She stated that reputable tax service providers try to help small businesses do what is best practice at a reasonable cost. She cautioned that this year has a few changes, but 2024 and 2025 will most likely see even greater change as the 2018 Tax Law is due to expire at that time.
Corum also noted that people who are retiring with IRAs should check with a specialist or the holder of the IRA regarding the age required for minimum distributions and how to include those in tax reports.
The next member meeting for UCBPA will be on February 14, at noon at Li’l Jo’s. All business and professionals in Union County are invited to attend and meet our new Union County Director of Schools, Greg Clay.
Anthony Ingram, a District Director for Boy Scouts USA will also share an upcoming event. The next BPA project is the UCBPA Prayer Breakfast on Good Friday, April 7.
In March, Congressman Tim Burchet will share some programs coming to Union County. Anyone who would like more information regarding meetings or projects, contact ucbpa.tn@gmail.com. Annual dues are $35 for businesses as well as individuals.
