Farmers, veterans, and their families are invited to an evening of celebration for the farm community to be held at Heartland Meadows in Halls, Tennessee, on July 8, starting at 6 p.m. The program will feature presentations on Faith, Family, Farm, and Freedom. We will honor our special guests—representatives of the Greatest Generation who served during the World War II era—and all who have served or are serving in the armed forces of the United States.
Teaming to Educate for Agricultural Mastery (TEAM) is an alliance of farm-based organizations who have chosen to work together to support the farm community. Knox County Farm Bureau Federation is the presenting sponsor for this event including the meal.
We will honor our heroes. WWII era veterans will be our special guests. All who serve or have served will be honored.
We will provide an “honor board” for YOUR special heroes. Please bring pictures, metals, or other memories to be posted
The meal will feature the special 4H recipe barbecue chicken with all of the fixings.
This is an event for the entire family. There will be activities for the children and bluegrass music from the Stock Creek Band.
We will have a great variety of speakers. Representing the faith component will be Richard Neal, local farmer and farm community leader. Representing family and farm components will be Jeff Aiken, former president of the Tennessee Farm Bureau and current Deputy Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. To honor our veterans, John Becker, news anchor for channel 10 and champion of veterans and freedom will speak. He will lead the celebration of our heroes.
