Employing a new Director of Schools

The Union County Board of Education will be employing a new Director of Schools. A key part of this process is to provide everyone an opportunity to be heard. Dr. Tammy Grissom, Executive Director of the Tennessee School Boards Association, will lead a forum designed to determine views about the issues and challenges facing our school system and Director of Schools.

To provide as many Union County stakeholders as possible an opportunity to have input into the selection process, the following schedule of community meetings will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Union County High School:

2:00 p.m. Central Office Staff, Supervisors and Principals (Union County High School Library)

3:30 p.m. Union County Public School Classified Employees (Union County High School Library)

4:30 p.m. Teachers (Union County High School Auditorium)

6:00 p.m. Community Forum (Union County High School Auditorium)

Everyone is encouraged to participate in these meetings to help determine what leadership skills will be needed to effectively serve Union County's students. Public comments will help determine the criteria to be used in selecting our new Director of Schools. The selection of our next Director of Schools is very important to all, and the Union County Board of Education looks forward to the public's assistance with this decision.
