Dawson Epperson signs with Tennessee Wesleyan University

On March 13, 2020, Union County High student Dawson Epperson signed a basketball scholarship with Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, Tennessee (TWU). Dawson talked to several schools before making the decision to sign with TWU. TWU is a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Dawson is undecided of his major at this time.
Dawson placed 6th for the all-time single season scorer for Union County High School with 651 points this year and had a total of 1,141 total high school points. He averaged 24 points a game and had a 90% free throw percentage in his senior season. Dawson was also named District 3AA player of the year and First Team All Regional 2AA.
He is the son of Scottie and Michelle Epperson, and sister Saylar and son of Carmen and Roger Murphy, and brother Cade.
He is also the grandson of Judy and Dwayne Epperson of Tazewell, Gary and Nancy Rutherford and Jimmy and Melissa Carter of Maynardville.
