David McCollough Celebrates 30 Years
David McCollough, State Farm Agent
In June 2019, David McCollough celebrated thirty years in the insurance industry. David is a State Farm Agent in Maynardville, Tennessee. He grew up in South Alabama with hardworking parents who taught him the importance of working to achieve your goals. David graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. He has three children who live close by in beautiful East Tennessee; Jake, Abby, and John David.
David’s hometown was a Mayberry type community in a textile mill. His father was a retired postman and his mother, who still resides in Alabama along with his two older brothers, retired from the textile industry where she worked in the engineering department. David worked in the textile mill during his teenage summers which taught him the meaning of hard work. He was also very involved in sports at that time which taught him the discipline that he carries today.
Leading him into the insurance business were his cousins Phil and Doug Nichols, both having their own State Farm Agencies. It did not take long working in Phil’s office for David to realize the perks of being self-employed, controlling his own destiny, and the freedom of flexible self-scheduling. He knew being an Insurance Agent was what he wanted to do.
Soon, opportunities in Jefferson City, Tennessee and Maynardville, Tennessee opened up. After a visit to Maynardville, he knew it was his best choice and he is very proud to call it his home still today. He loves the community and has been incredibly involved in and supportive to community organizations over the years. He is a sponsor to numerous events which benefit the community and local schools. Throughout his career in Maynardville, he has been the Vice President of the Union County Business and Professionals Association, Board Member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce, and Union County Economic Development. Currently, he is the President of the Hickory Star Home Owners Association.
David has an outstanding staff including Jake McCollough, Rebecca Taylor, and Mia Long. Jake and Rebecca are both licensed insurance producers and Mia is service support staff. They work as a team and it shows in the quality of their work and relationships in the community.
In celebration of David’s remarkable thirty years of service, he and staff invited friends, customers, and the community to celebrate on Monday, June 3rd. In celebration, BlindDog’s food truck set up in the front parking lot to serve patrons from their delicious menu. Also, each Wednesday in June, Taco Knox will be at the office open to the community, offering a change of lunch choice for the day to locals. Please stop by and wish David a happy anniversary and many more years in business!
