Cut Flower Connections Walk & Talk

Knoxville, TN – July 29, 2024 – Whether you're a seasoned florist, a budding enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of fresh blooms, mark your calendars for an exciting event this August! The Cut Flower Walk & Talk promises a day of floral inspiration and community connection for all those passionate about cut flowers. Cut flower producer interest meetings that were hosted across the state in the winter of 2023, we are hosting another producer event, Cut Flower Connections, this summer to highlight the progress of the newly started project ‘Equipping Cut Flower Producers in TN,’ funded by the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant. This project aims to help TN growers make informed decisions about production and marketing in this newly emerging specialty grower industry. If you want to learn more about this project check out the attached Info Sheet.

Cut Flower Connections: Walk & Talk, will be held in both Jackson and Knoxville. We will showcase the production growing areas at each location, discuss challenges, share what we have learned this far, and discuss what lies ahead. These field walks are an opportunity for cut flower growers and enthusiasts to tour the production trial plots, receive updates on the progress of the Equipping Cut Flower Producers study, provide feedback, and most importantly NETWORK with each other. The event is FREE and will be held Rain or Shine. We do ask that all who plan to attend pre-register at https://tiny.utk.edu/cutflowerwalktalk.
